Mom Tips - For Prettying-Up Mom

I so enjoy the little "mom tips" that I've come across in life - those little things that I've learned from my mom, or a mom friend, that just make life a little nicer.  Things that make the "daily-daily" just a little easier, or make me smile a little more, or maybe will be a time saver for me.  I'm not referring to the bigger projects like de-cluttering or re-organizing, (although those definitely make me smile)!  But just the small things - the "mom tips" that aren't in the self-help books, they're just life-experience things that I've gotten from a mom with experience under her belt.  Well I'll share with you some of my Mom Tips for Prettying-Up Mom; I hope they bring a simple breath of fresh air to your regular every day patterns!  *smile*

Favorite Recipes: Cobb Salad

Since writing about how I create our weekly schedule and mentioning that we have cobb salads every day with lunch, I've had several requests for the recipe.  *smile*  We have so enjoyed developing our salad lunches! And this has also been a good way to cut back on our grocery bill, compared to serving pre-prepared foods like we used to most days.

Incentives & Rewards for Children's Behavior, Part 1 of 2

I strive to bring as much delight as I can into all of the children's character and behavior training.  So I look for the little things to praise for and try to jump at those with affirmation.

  • Mini sticker charts
  • Scratch-n-Sniff stickers
  • Honey on their tongue
  • "Ice cubes"
  • Jelly Bellies
  • Competing with themselves
  • "Smackeroo kiss" or a squeeze hug
  • A little more of a movie or documentary
  • Crackers for 5 minute success
  • Earning Money

Favorite Recipes: Southwestern Egg Rolls With Avocado Ranch Dip, Vegetarian dish

Makes 21 Egg rolls, or 48 Won tons

This tasty dinner is absolutely delicious; our family eats every single one every time I double the recipe and serve them; and I've received nothing but the highest praise for the recipe from friends I've shared the recipe with.
